The Swing Shift
An illustrative composite — not a real customer. We built these to describe who this product is for.
Ray · 41 · emergency nurse · Denver
Three twelves a week, and the twelves are never the same twelve. Days one week, nights the next. His training doesn't get a fixed slot, so it gets whatever slot is left.
He rides. He also lifts, because at forty-one the thing that goes first is not his engine.
Everyone else's training advice assumes a stable schedule. Train at the same time each day. Sleep eight hours. Ray's job is structurally incompatible with both, and he has stopped reading anything that opens by assuming otherwise.
What he has learned to protect instead is the thing he can control: what goes in before a session, and whether it will still be in his system when he needs to think clearly about somebody else's worst day.
That is not a small consideration in his line of work. A stimulant dose that leaves him wired at hour nine of a twelve is not a preference problem, it's a competence problem.
He reads labels properly. Not the front — the panel. He has been in the room when a supplement was part of somebody's story, and it changed how he shops.
What he needs from a label: full disclosure, no proprietary blend, and a caffeine number he can reason about against a shift that hasn't started yet.
